Japan starts swine flu vaccinations

TOKYO β€” Japan on Monday started vaccinating medical workers against swine flu, which is known to have killed 27 people in the country, the health ministry said.
The country has a limited supply of the domestically-made vaccine, with doses for about 1.18 million people available in the first batch as Japan heads into the autumn-winter flu season,

The Public Health Ministry Tuesday reported two more deaths caused by the A (H1N1) influenza, raising the flu fatalities to nine. Deputy Public Health Minister Manit Nopamornbodi said an eight-year-old girl died on July 2 and the result of lab test just came out that she got A (H1N1) flu.

Two cases of H1N1 confirmed in Guyana

The Ministry of Health has confirmed the first two cases of the H1N1 flu in Guyana. A release from the Health Ministry said that β€œat 2 pm on Saturday, July 4, Guyana reported to the International Health Regulation Focal Point at the World Health Organisation (WHO)” that these cases have been identified.
